Ink-bottleChapter XVII

Sons of God and daughters of Men

There are many theories as to who these “sons of God” are. Some people interpret them as sons of Cain who polluting the line of Seth. Personally, I do not think the text supports this idea. In other parts of the Bible, like in Job 1, you can see that angels are called “sons of God.” Also, within the context of the Genesis narrative, it seems that the creatures that are born from the union of these daughters of men and sons of God are extra-ordinary. I try to craft a story that helps explain who those sons of God are and how they managed to come into our world and why they are no longer in our world.

On a side note, I have heard some people say that angels are ‘sexless.’ I think the basis of this belief comes from Yeshua’s comment about people not being married after the resurrection. In Matthew 22:29-31 he uses the angels as examples of beings that do not marry. People can assume that because they do not marry that angels are somehow sexless, but it does not state that in the text. It simply notes that angels do not marry.
