Nod and Yabal & Jubal

The Bible says in Genesis  4 that after he was granted a mark that would protect him from those who would find him and kill him because of what he did to Abel, Cain went out to the land of Nod, east of Eden.  Other than this, we know nothing of Nod. However, we do know that within a couple thousand years humanity had become so corrupt, God regretted that he made man. My (subjective) belief is that Nod and the people that lived there had something to do with all of that.  However, I would bet there were many things modern day people would have been fascinated with if they could have seen it. Thus, I placed Dr. Geiger in the city to report about its unique attributes. He would, of course, only talk about the positive things and those aspects he liked.

In Genesis 4 it also gives the names of the decedents of Cain. It is hard to tell who was born first in Tubal-Cain’s generation. However, since Yabal (Jabal) and Jubal were mentioned first, I took it to be that Yabal was born first and then Tubal-Cain. Since Yabal did not want to be bothered to serve as Firstborn, the would be left to the other two brothers to squabble over.

To avoid confusion, I used a different transliteration from the Hebrew into English for the charcter of Yabal. It was just too similar to his brother Jubal to call him what most English Bibles call him, which is Jabal.
