Languages in the Future Perfect series
One of the major ideas written into the Future Perfect series is the questioning of concepts we take for granted in our modern world and if they were different, what affects might those differences have on culture. Genesis 11:1 tells us that the whole world had one language up until the events surrounding the Tower of Babel. If you have a civilization that has only one way of speaking, how might that manifest itself in the way people of that civilization look at someone who actually could speak another language. In Commencement, the humanity has only existed for 900 years and very few people have died. As a result of this continuity, language has not changed or morphed very much. Regional pronunciation have only begun to creep into the language of the Ancients.
